Azkals posted this on the Pens board from a Trib article last week.

The Penguins-Capitals game registered a 12.0 Nielsen rating for Root Sports. Each of the Penguins' 11 regular-season games has registered a double-digit rating. A rating point is equal to about 12,000 households. Penguins games are being watched by an average of about 357,600 people this season based on Nielsen research.
Nothing surprising there, I just loved seeing that average number...which means there are more people in the Pittsburgh area watching Penguins games than people that actually live in Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh city proper covers a small footprint, which helps drive the population number down - only ~307k people actually live in Pittsburgh, compared to ~1.225m in Allegheny County and ~2.4m in the metro. For example Nashville covers almost 10x as much land as Pittsburgh does, as the city covers the entirety of Davidson County. Most cities cover about 2-3 times as much land as Pittsburgh does...though Buffalo is actually smaller).

“The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile, but that it is indifferent. If we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death, our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light.” - Stanley Kubrick
