At the end of the day a 7th rounder is better than nothing, and considering we'd have to waive someone to get to the roster limit I'll take it. Without the immediate waiver risk he may have fetched a 5th...but, eh. Whatever. 7th rounder > nothing
The problem was.. he wasn't going to do it here no matter who the coach was. He needs to develop on a team that is in the dumps who will give him a shot to succeed and has plenty of time to do it.

As SS said - both are to blame. I still think it's better than letting him his waivers. A pick is a pick in the NHL draft. Talent can be ubiquitous, but development is needed.
