I see there is a lot of love for the camera angle.

Yet, I maintain my opposition.

I find that you only can see one-half of the ice with that camera angle. So basically, I can only see 3 players from the PP team and 2 players from the SH team, most of the time.

Depending on the formations, this sometimes is increased to 4 and 3, respectively.

I rarely see the open man though, until it gets to him and he blasts a shot at the net. Which makes sense, since offensive-minded hockey players have the instinct to be stealth-like in the offensive zone.

Part of the excitement in being a fan is sitting there, seeing the open man, and feeling either excited or depressed (depending on which team is on the PP) that he might get the puck passed to him.

This camera angle removes that anticipation.
