Lakehead's advantage playing at home, especially in the playoffs, has been huge over the years. Since they entered the league in 2001/02, they have met Western 6 times in the playoffs when Western finished higher than them in the standings. and Lakehead has won that first home game all six times, including in 01/02 when Western went 22-0-2 during the regular season and in 02/03 when Western went 24-0-0 during the regular season. The 'Wolves went on to win 4 out these 6 series. I agree that a team's best shot against Lakehead in the playoffs is when Lakehead has the 2 home games and the series starts in your own rink.
