He's tired. If you watch in the defensive zone, Emelin covers the puck carrier no matter which side he's on. Markov is parked in front of the net. So all this chasing is wearing down on him, if you pay attention, he doesn't last any shift, even if its a short shift.

He needs to me moved to the left side with Subban or Diaz on his right. This Markov "plan" is going to burn out a lot of the players on this team because he doesn't have the mobility he once had.

Emelin is avg 19:55 of puck chasing a night. Bad coaching in my opinion.
They leaned too heavily on Markov-Emelin to start the season, it wasn't smart.

I don't just blame Therrien though, the stupid contract negotiations with Subban is what really did it.
