I agree but I'm not so sure about your last sentence. Clearly the coaching staff recognizes his play has dropped off and I wouldn't be surprised if he sits for a game or two if he remains hot and cold over the next week. But it wouldn't even be a disciplinary measure. There's clearly a reason why he doesn't have the same jump as he did the first give games and it's because he's played a ridiculous amount of hockey relative to his past. It would be, like you said, just to give him a mental break from the grind of the condensed schedule. I think if the staff wants to maximize the output of the younger guys they should be doing that anyway. Schwartz has been excellent since being scratched.
