I definitely did not believe in him in his draft year, have to say. I see a lot of smaller guys who can be a bit feisty and put up points in junior, but it is rare to see them progress to the NHL when they aren't that quick. But Gallagher has trained really hard and really gained ground in terms of his quickness overall, and he did it in a comparatively short time... realization and dedication applied at an earlier age than some skilled/smaller players who don't quite figure out how much harder they still have to work until they start to encounter some difficulties. Gallagher pre-empted all that.
