$4mil for both teams, Calgary wipes there hands of the bad contract. Penguins get a playoff winger for Sid.

I would say upgrade the pick to a 2nd and we might be close to a deal.

Tyler Kennedy is exactly the type of player the Flames could use. Has decent offensive instincts, works hard and is responsible at both ends of the ice. Not a top end end talent by any stretch of the imagination, but a guy who brings his best game to the rink every night.
If the Flames retain salary it would cost the Pens a 2nd. That is more than fair given Cammalleri's salary and is supported by other deals where salary has been shifted around.

Wait a second. You were the one who said you wanted a player to ride shot gun with Crosby and produce in the playoffs? Do you honestly think those players grow on trees and there wouldn't be demand from other teams for such a player? Don't be naive. If you say you want him to play with Crosby you are saying you see the potential in the player to be a big win for your team. So don't get all butt hurt and act like a baby when someone demands fair compensation for a player of that stature. The poster was responding your comment and going on the assumption that you're identifying Cammalleri as a first line player. A first line player is worth a late first round draft pick, especially to a team looking to go deep in the playoffs. You're not trading away a top 10 pick, you're trading away a pick in the 20-30 range.
