But it wasn't the right move at the time. There was and is NO reason to believe that Caron will ever be a better player that Pouliot.

The Lightning signed Pouliot for 1.1 million...a bargain for a player of Benoit's calibre. The Bruins could and should have offered at least 1.2 million.
