That has to be one of the worst justifications I have seen. Moulson led the Islanders in offensive zone starts last season at even strength - which by virtue also means he was last on the team in defensive zone starts - and was usually put up against other teams' checking lines. Gee, I wonder why he tended not to be on the ice for many goals against. Moulson is irrelevant at best defensively.
