I'm not even sure if the "system" is the issue or whatnot, but implementing a new system takes time and patience. And I don't think a lockout-shortened season with no training camp is an ideal time to start trying it out. Any system under Torts, whether it be the current one or one that opens up the system, is going to rely heavily on conditioning - something that many players are lacking as of right now.

When we transitioned from Renney to Torts, it took over a year for the Rangers to fully adjust. It wasn't until the 2010-11 season, a year and a half after Torts was hired, that the Rangers were able to execute the system successfully. These things take time.
