The players would be fine. It's 58 (15c) in LA right now, it wouldn't be hard on them at all.

The Winter Classic is about getting back to hockey's roots.. what would it mean to a Southern market fanbase? Nothing. Hockey's meant to be played in the cold.
It'd be about celebrating this game in this country. Celebrating the fact that you don't have to come from Canada, the northeast, or the midwest to enjoy it. Hockey isn't 'meant' to be played in the cold, it only started there before technology allowed it to be moved anywhere with electricity.
