Trust Avs fans when we tell you, any team getting O'Reilly will most likely win the trade. Your getting a young core player with three years in the NHL already, that also has more potential on top of what hes already done.
What is Colorado being offered? Non core players, some good, some not so.. Along with getting told 'No' on any highly touted prospect coming back. Everyone wants to give up complimentary pieces, proven or unproven. It's ridiculous...
Yup I have noticed that too. People don't understand that we are giving up a core player we DO NOT want to give up, except we have no choice.
Some of you are thinking that I am overrating ROR with this post. Clearly not, the ones who think I am are clearly underrating his value. He is the type of player you win Cups with.
I also find it hypocritical to the posters who say he only had one good season, but yet won't give up their prospect who are not NHL proven and abide by how "good" their potential will be. Guess what ROR had a breakout season, already is NHL proven, and unlimited potential with the player you're team will eventually get HATES losing. To the point of running the Pepsi Centre stairs after a lost.
CobraAcesS said it perfectly, any trade involving ROR will be a lost for us (Plain and simple).
