Yeah, I agree. With Chouinard, Brandner, and Burns no longer in the lineup (though Wiemer is making a very strong impression), a more physical presence was probably favored.

That being said, I also agree with the general sentiment of the board. Wanvig did come to camp in shape and more determined to do what he had to do to make it to the NHL. Though I can only go by his Houston numbers, Kyle seemed to deserve a shot so it's nice to see him get it.

I'd also love to see Wallin get a chance sometime this year.

The interesting thing will be what transpires if either of these kids performs. The roster is awfully crowded as is.

Next years camp will be insane unless Doug makes some trades or lets a few vets walk.
