Now, with regards to this last one Zubrus for Lydman and Betts... that's not a good deal for the Caps. Lydman's an inconsistent offensively inclined defenseman with a history of concussions, and Betts is a carbon copy of Sutherby, but older and with worse skating ability. Bottomline, no way is Zubrus even on the block, much less go for a package this weak.
For the sake of discussion however, if I had to trade him to the Flames, it would probably be something like this:
Zubrus for Regehr and a 3rd
or
Zubrus for Gauthier and Kobasew

huh? Lydman is a two way defenceman (arguably the number one or two dman on our team) who missed a grand total of four games the last 2 years...and just missed a few games with a shoulder injury. so your description of him couldn't be more wrong. a package of Lydman AND Betts is not weak when discussing Dainus Zubrus, let alone the other 2 deals
