i dont quite follow the general blow it up train of thought here.
you do realize this is NY and this team is run by arguably the biggest egomaniac in all of sports? there is no way on gods green earth they will "blow it up" and move forward with a bunch of kids without big name/big ticket players, not a chance.
lets say for arguments sake they trade gabby and buy out richards, who exactly do you replace them with? keeping the cap in mind...
as far as I'm concerned this mess starts and ends with Torts and the way this team has been constructed. Even last year, we all knew it was a matter of time before the other shoe dropped and the inability to score would catch up with them, nothing has changed. There is no plausible reason for teams with the talent he's had to be as awful as its been on the pp. If the pp is even middle of the road we probably aren't having this discussion and this hold true since torts has been here.
as much as i hope richards is gone, sooner than later, blowing it up is NEVER going to happen... not with the "elite" talent anyway.
