It would be nice if he could finish off with 5 or more healthy years, maybe crack 80 points a few times in that span. If he does do that, then he'll perhaps be a shoo-in again. It'll mean he finishes his career with over 500 goals and around 1100 points. That's pretty good. There are certainly players in the HOF right now that can't match his 839 points in 711 games. We had a stretch of around 50 years from 1950 to 2000 when basically everybody who won the Hart was a shoo-in HOFer, right? More recently, with the wins by guys like Theodore and St.Louis, I guess there is less case for saying an MVP is a likely HOFer. But Lindros probably has a chance. He does have considerably more points than Neely in similar games, and he's only a good season or a couple more ragged ones away from him in goals. It's a fair comparison, IMO.
