Is the board really "blocking" Wenger from adding top notch talent, is Wenger refusing to bring in quality players of a certain age cause he likes to mold his prospects a certain way, does the board actually care if this team racks up trophy's or do they just satisfied making profits.

Can someone explain to me why rumours like that fly around year after year with no end result? Why doesn't any reporter go straight to the source to ask the board all those questions? Is there a sound bite from one of the owners, saying they have all the intentions in the world to upgrade the talent on the pitch?
Yeah, I thought that sounded familiar, as well.

At the end of the day:
Report "Arsenal to have £70M to sign stars" generates a few million clicks/views/sales, and has fans discussing possible additions of Hummels, Götze, and what not. Report "Nothing out of the ordinary expected at Arsenal" generates twelve cynical comments from Arsenal fans. It's the nature of the beast.

In football, there just seem to be a few thousand Eklunds for every McKenzie.
