Great minds think alike! Another factor is whether you're doing the auction with strangers or friends. I feel like my AL Only league cohorts know all of our tendencies by now.
And that includes the "Guy who leaves his money on the table." Last year, Alex Rios was the last proven OF available and I had $15 left. The other guy had at least $20. I (as well as everybody else who had no money left) were stunned when he let me have Rios for $8. At least one other agitated person alluded to the fact that he could at least bid me up a few more bucks. The other guy ended up with Nolan Reimold for $1.
I suppose the 'end game' is another thing to watch for. Aside from the guys who'll spend too much at the beginning, there might be the guy that saves too much and has $20 at the end with nobody worthwhile to buy / nobody else to bid against.
