For what it's worth.
You can't compare Canucks ticket prices to the Seattle team's ticket prices. The Canucks prices are some of the highest in the league and they've been sold out for like 10 years.

If you want to compare, check out the Avs prices. Similar sized city with similar sports competition (NFL, MLB, NBA, MLS, NLL, NCAAFB, etc). their tickets for an upcoming game are available from $21 - 217 from their Ticket Horse website. Similarly Minnesota with same scenario has tickets upcoming for $36 - 263. Dallas has tickets from $10-140.

And the argument that too many Canadians would buy seasons tickets is lame. That is even a greater reason to get the team to Seattle. From Surrey/Langley to downtown Vancouver or downtown Seattle could be about only a 30 min difference with various traffic situations. As noted Buffalo Sabres survives on this model for 40+ years.

E: For that Canucks game.. If you bothered to look, the only seats you can get pairs together are lower bowl ends for $210 each. There is demand.
