So let's break down what I said, which was "Winnipeg is the only relocated team in history to use an "inaugural season" patch on their jerseys."

The following teams were the beneficiaries of a relocated franchise in the NHL.

Hamilton Tigers (1920-21, from Quebec)
New York Americans (1925-26, from Hamilton)
Philadelphia Quakers (1930-31, from Pittsburgh)
St. Louis Eagles (1934-35, from Ottawa)
Cleveland Barons (1976-77, from Oakland)
Colorado Rockies (1976-77, from Kansas City)
Calgary Flames (1980-81, from Atlanta)
New Jersey Devils (1982-83, from Colorado)
Dallas Stars (1993-94, from Minnesota)
Colorado Avalanche (1995-96, from Quebec)
Phoenix Coyotes (1996-97, from Winnipeg)
Carolina Hurricanes (1997-98, from Hartford)
Winnipeg Jets (2011-12, from Atlanta)

That's it. That's the entire history of NHL relocations right there. But again, what I said was "Winnipeg is the only relocated team in history to use an "inaugural season" patch on their jerseys." So let's go further.

Did any of the following teams in that first season have some type of "inaugural season" patch?

Hamilton Tigers - Obviously, no
New York Americans - Nice uniforms, but no
Philadelphia Quakers - Only lasted one year anyway
St. Louis Eagles - So did these guys
Cleveland Barons - Still the best sleeve numbers in history, but no
Colorado Rockies - No
Calgary Flames - No
New Jersey Devils - No; these are distinguished by the Sandow tail tagging
Dallas Stars - No, and the only changes from the previous year were the Texas patches on the shoulders
Colorado Avalanche - Only year for this tail tagging
Phoenix Coyotes - This is photomatched to the first year
Carolina Hurricanes - Obviously a dated photo
Winnipeg Jets - Wait a minute....what's the patch? It almost looks like ...like this! My eyes might not be too good any more, but I think that says "inaugural season" on it.

Why, this whole exercise would almost seem to indicate that the Winnipeg Jets are the only team in NHL history to have an "inaugural season" patch on their jersey after relocating. Now, what I had originally said was "Winnipeg is the only relocated team in history to use an "inaugural season" patch on their jerseys." That looks like a true statement, a 100% clearly factual statement.
