Well sure but it all depends on the GM and the team he's building. If a team is just going crazy with big contracts of course they sacrifice their depth and have issue. We're seeing that now with the Rangers, adding Nash and sacrificing Dubinsky, Anisimov and Prust has caused them considerable issues with scoring (or preventing scoring) when Nash isn't on the ice.

We already have Price at $6.5M and Galchenyuk will be probably making more when he hits 23. Subban playing at his best will make Markov money. That opens up someone else at forward to fill big money until then. I'd be all for overpaying Perry for five years.
