Its great for Calgary to get a good player, but really this is just more of the same. They can't seem to get enough good players at the same time, and they stay mired in mediocrity. I think they'd be wiser to have accumulated some picks for this draft and embrace the rebuild.
Colorado had a great assortment of young talent, and still have a lot of it, but they are not moving forward. To lose ROR and get more attractive draft picks.....they should be farther along than that. They were pretty similar in the timing of their rebuild with St Louis. But I think you see a dramatic difference in the competence of their respective front offices.
Apparently he wont be tradeable for two years unless the trade deadline is in March next year which it might not be under the new CBA. All depends on the end of the season.
