Admittedly, I haven't seen Kassian play this year, but I think Kassian completely lacks Ott's defensive play and faceoff ability, so not sure that's a valid comparison.

Indeed, Ott has been one of a small handful of Sabres who have both played hard / given consistent effort, and actually cared / given a crap this season. It's shameful how short that Sabres list is.

I'm disappointed Corey Tropp (@OP: season-ending injury in fall 2012) couldn't be learning from Ott this season. Glad Ott's signed for another season.
