Going back and forth with Jason Botchford of The Province on Twitter.

He seems to think that because the NHL club leases their players to the AHL franchise, which they do, the NHL club can also decide where that franchise plays. While he acknowledges Don Levin owns the Wolves, ownership apparently doesn't matter. The Wolves would just magically be playing in Abbotsford next year.

EDIT: His argument is based on the Heat being owned by a local ownership group, and NOT the Flames. An Abbotsford News article says the Flames own them, and everything I've read has led me to believe the same. There is no owner listed on the Heat's website or wiki page. The Flames wiki pages says the team owns the Hitmen, Stampeders and Roughnecks but doesn't mention the Heat.

So, in the words of Denis Lemieux, Who own da Heat?
