The OP stated hypothetically that TT is ready for a top-6 role. Elaborating on that hypothetical a bit, TT comes to rookie camp and is hands down the best player on the ice. Then he joins other prospects like Morin, JHayes, Pirri and others at training camp and is again the hands down best prospect at camp. In fact so much so that the Hawks decide he is ready to play in the NHL and he makes the opening day roster. None of the other prospects would have any room to complain because TT just outplayed every one of them.

Let's also assume that Olesz and Montador will be bought out and Frolik will be traded as a salary dump allowing enough cap space to resign free agent forwards Kruger, Stalberg and Bickell.

Maybe TT will play center in the NHL some day, but very doubtful next year. So most likely he will play where he has been playing this year in Finland - LW.

Here is my hypothetical lineup:


Toews, Kane and Teravainen - the three best play makers on three different lines.
