Iggy isn't quite your typical 26 year old franchise player. Simply because of his huge salary burden. He's a luxury.

There are two questions that matter. Can Calgary afford to keep a player that is going to cost them at least $7.5M per year? Will Iggy take less in his next contract negotiation to stay in Calgary?

If the answer to both is "no", his value moves far closer to what you get for a salary dump - Because that's going to be the only circumstances under which he is moved.

If the answer to either is "yes", than he simply won't be going anywhere.

Either way, I don't see him being traded for what would normally be considered "fair value" in terms of proven, on-ice talent.
