proposed the same thing a while back in a thread re. Rangers needing a PMD/PP specialist type d-man...

i bet the two teams have been talking about a move with these two guys being the focal point, likely with the habs pushing Kaberle instead and the rangers wanting Weber+.

with the habs playing as well as they are, there is no need for them to make any move that doesn't clearly benefit them, especially not in moving a guy like Weber, whose value is much lower than what it should be b/c of his lack of use with the habs (which is much more a reflection of their depth in that role/position than it is of his inability to play regular NHL minutes).

I'd add perhaps a late round pick, or a depth prospect, not much more than that.

Moen-Boyle has potential from habs pov as well, though hard to see why the Rangers would want to take on the term on Moen's deal when he's less productive/versatile than Boyle, not too mention older and struggling to fill his role effectively this season.

Boyle would be a nice addition to Mtl's 4th line, we could use the size & face-off effectiveness he'd add to the C position for us.
