Iginla would have to agree to sign a 2-year deal before the trigger could be pulled. This seems pretty realistic to me and addresses the areas of concern for both teams.
Pitt has 4 quality centers, but would like to improve their D, and getting Iginla makes a ridiculous amount of sense.
Calgary desperately needs a Center and some pieces around which to rebuild.
Might be some cap issues to navigate for the Pens, but if they manage that, unlike a lot of deals being thrown around I think it makes a lot of sense.
Why are Calgary fans insistent on throwing more players that we DON'T need in a deal to try to pillage more out of Pittsburgh? Iggy is the LONE guy Pittsburgh should have interest in from Calgary unless Glencross becomes available. Giordano makes too much $$$ and Butler is terrible.
We DON'T have four quality centers. We have three. Pittsburgh is dead set on going with the three center model. I think the Jordan Staal deal should tell you that. The deal doesn't get done if Sutter wasn't apart of it. Butler doesn't improve our defense.
This makes absolutely no sense for Pittsburgh whatsoever.
