He said not likely and he is right.

I just looked at the 2003-2008 4-7 round picks for tow Habs.I count 5 of 24 players who are productive: Halak, Streit, Grabovski, D'agostini, and S. Kostitsyn... That is a .209 batting average and .291 slugging percentage. Good to have, but not a huge deal.

In contrast, for the 1st rounders in the period, the batting average is .833 and the slugging percentage is 2.167.
