It will hurt us, but only in the the first 2 years of PK's contract. Cap inflation will correct the situation.
Plus, I still claim that this bridge contract kind of lifted a weight off Subban's shoulders. Was he paid Myer-grade money, he would have expected to perform like a bona-fide #1 defenseman at all time rather than given the time to further develop. I don't think anybody can say he did not described Subban's play as:
"He's one of the best, but...." (fill in question about decision making, maturity, etc...)
