You'd want the draft to begin in the early afternoon, to attract a large audience in the arena and on TV. Starting in the morning and finishing during prime time seems backwards.

If it really only takes about 30 seconds per pick in the later rounds, it's not really that difficult. Just a long day for the GMs, but the logistics should work out fine. That would mean about 1 round per hour, after taking about 2 hours to do a big production of the first round. Total 8 hours.
