Well the Bruins put a few of their free agent signings from last year on waivers or traded them a few months in to the season. Didn't seem to hurt their chances in signing Chara and Savard this offseason. Different sport but similar situation, Bronson Arroyo signed for less to stay with the Red Sox then was traded before Boston...doubt it will hurt their chances in signing anybody this offseason. I see your point, but I think these guys all realize it's a buisness and in a similar situation if the guy likes Edmonton and the money they are offering, I would think that guy would sign with the Oilers if they were to trade Stoll+ to get Gomez.
