How am I full of crap? It seems to me that today's acts are more concerned about all the sideshows instead of the music. It being in an arena is no excuse, I've been to arena gigs and the sound was just fine and it's not like huge electronic music events are something that just started in 2009. I guess when the music can't carry itself, they need to resort to tricks and theatrics to keep the audience happy. I blame the average EDM consumer who expect their favourite DJ and act to just play the hits like a jukebox. The attention-span of the music listener today can't handle a well-crafted and building set anymore, everything must come now and immediately and the sound quality can be crap as long as there are lasers and pyrotechnics.
