The general rule I've noticed on how players refer to each other is to take a variation on the 1st syllable of their last name and sometimes add an S, Y, or ER to the end in.

Tyuts
Dorse
Dubi
Brass
Boller
Umby
Wiz
Mase
Bob or Bobs

Its not always the case but that seems to be fairly common among all hockey teams and not just the CBJ.
