A contract alone doesn't mean anything... Rangers have signed guys that were sent to the central hockey league cus they couldnt cut it.
How many prospects who are already in the Ranger system (and re-signed to a one-way contract) end up in CHL? Please name one.

As for Talbot, of course he's not ready for the NHL now. But, he's playing very well as a starter for the first time in his professional career after having a very good playoff run. What exactly do you expect of a goalie prospect who was never drafted?
