Sure the situation can be improved in many areas but there are 24 teams currently in the U10 chmapionship at the moment, and 21 in U12, and next to existing good schools that produce talents like Riga ones' HS Rīga, Pārdaugava, Prizma and Liepājas Metalurgs, Dinamo Rīga's own youngesters look promising in U12 and U10 groups and a serious job is done in Jelgava now. The problem is not as much with how many schools we have but with quality. If there were more hockey schools like Liepājas Metalurgs consequently all Latvian U 10,12, 14 etc. leagues would be better and players wouldn't have to play in Belarus or Russia and there would be more talents coming out...
What about Latgale? what kids improveing here?
