I very much doubt that the Canes will be satisfied with what Colrado can give them.

And that's not all of course, our forward depth is fine and once everybody gets back (Kariya will be back after Christmas and if Forsber won't be too long either I woud think) we'll be just fine.

Besides, I think PL will be looking to strenghten the defense as a first priority as Martin Skoula has apparently landed in Granato's dog house, wich probably means he'll be traded before the end of january. And we'll have to get a decent D Man in return for Skoula as our depth on D would suffer greatly otherwise.
And than there's always the theory that PL will be holding his cards until the right goalie comes along.
That's why I don't see the Avs making a pitch for an expensive and valuable forward such as O'Neill
