Roger takes the first set against Dodig but looks utterly ordinary in doing so... but Dodig has no stomach for a protracted battle with Roger and goes extremely quietly in the second.

Paire/Simon starting, which looks like a fascinating match up. Guessing Simon, but I wouldn't bet the house....Paire gets a break, which serves as a wake-up call for Simon, who breaks right back, 3-2...only to get clobbered at love for 4-2....only to have Simon yet again return the favour, 4-3...and Simon double faults another break, 5-3 Paire to serve for the match. Gilles should be embarrassed by this lax play...Paire takes it 6-3....then fritters away the second set, 7-6...then loses the match to a relatively passive Simon in the third...Simon looked ripe for the taking, but Paire is the very definition of erratic, so the upset didn't happen.
