Quote:
Adirondack Phantoms RW Matthew Ford has been traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets organization in exchange for future considerations. Ford has been assigned by Columbus to the Springfield Falcons.

Ford was acquired by Philadelphia on February 3, 2012 in exchange for defenseman Kevin Marshall. He scored a combined 29-30-59 with Hershey and Adirondack last season including 19-12-31 in just 31 games for the Phantoms. He also had nine game-winning goals including eight with Adirondack to finish second in the AHL. This year, he has scored 4-9-13 in 35 games for Adirondack.

A couple of Ford's top highlights as an Adirondack Phantom were both at the Times Union Center against rival Albany. He scored an overtime game-winner on March 3, 2012. And he registered a hat trick there on April 7, 2012.

The University of Wisconsin product was drafted in the 8th round in 2004 by Chicago. He has played a combined 256 AHL games and 287 total professional games since debuting in 2008-09 with the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) and Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL). He has 94-90-184 in his pro career and 73-71-144 in the AHL.

Apparently the Jackets just acquired this guy for future considerations. What kind of player is this guy?
