One of the thing that I've noticed is that they defend pretty well from the blue line to around the hash marks. From the hash marks back to the end boards things get pretty hairy pretty fast. They don't control loose pucks, they don't tie up opposing players. They are susceptible to an aggressive forecheck. They don't clear rebounds or opposing forwards from in front of the crease.

Apart from the obvious need of a PMD (preferably two) they need better fundamentals and positioning. This was actually a bit of a problem last year too, but it's much worse this year.
