Perhaps it's because I'm not a scouting expert, prospect guru or all around hockey genius but I am not even sure what is meant by 'generational' talent. It seems to be used pretty commonly around here which kind of defeats the purpose of the term doesn't it?

I have heard people say Jones' upside is something along the lines of Pronger. Obviously a great player, but generational? Throughout much of his career considered the undisputed best player? Record setter? Changed the way the game was played?
