I seriously think the oilers changed lines are one of the biggest reasons this team has hope. There are three scoring lines. What was 75% of this teams problem? Scoring. We have been projected to be a team that will rely on scoring as our defence is not top notch and our goaltending can be questionable. If we can get a consistent effort from each player every night, good things will come. I was ready to throw in the towel after being shut out for two games. But after the line shake up, there is new hope.

Hall - Horc - Hemsky
MPS - Gags - Yak
Jones - Nuge - Ebs
Brown - Smyth - Petrell

We have a twf, a sniper, and a setup guy on each three lines IMO

TWF: Horcoff, MPS, Jones
Sniper: Hall, Yak, Eberle
Passer: Hemsky, Gags, Nuge

Sure each of the players might not fit the bill 100% ie. Gags being a passer as he is kinda an all around threat right now, but the basic premises is the lines are quite balanced. Also the minutes each line is playing and the competition they are playing against is ideal. (Nuge and Ebs snakebitten seeing 2nd/3rd liners vs first liners. If we are rolling these top three lines as well, we are not overloading them with work, and in this condensed season, one can only assume the negative affects.

Our fourth line while not ideal on NHL standards has also been upgraded with the addition of Brown. We all know that Smyth can sometimes jam in those wrap arounds and we have seen Petrell/Harti score occasionally.

Lets just hope we can stay healthy and come out to play each night.
