The Rangers were not playing badly because of a lack of effort. The Jets game plan is similar to that of the Devils last year.

They are keeping us pinned in our own end because the Rangers(specifically their Dmen) are not showing any poise on the breakouts. They are throwing pucks up the wall where two Jets are constantly positioned at all times. Jets players are just intercepting pucks.

If the Rangers continue trying to breakout along the wall(instead of using the middle of the ice), they will struggle to get out of their own end. This will directly affect the offense because our forwards will be too tired once they get out of the zone.
