Howard is currently fifth in ES sv%. He has played very well most of this year.

In contrast, Jonas Gustavsson has been the worst player on the team - when in the lineup. He's faced an average of about 23 shots per game, and his GAA is near 3. I don't exaggerate when I say that, in my opinion, he's the worst goaltender the Wings have had on their regular roster since at least Kevin Hodson. And probably further than that; he has worse numbers than Hodson in an era more favorable to goalie stats, and he has faced fewer shots per game than Hodson did.
Idk I think Gus has been ok, Wednesday was bad, but he has also played a great game, and has only played in 5 games, which is a small sample size. give him 15-20 games before we completely decide what kind of player he is. in my opinion an average backup better than Conklin's 2nd go around worse than when Mcdonald was standing on his head last year.
