He might want to finally go to Toronto, but I just have a feeling he really enjoys the city, and playing in New York.. He's been nothing of the "problem child" he was supposed to be, and has been a good soldier for being bounced all over the lineup, with varying degrees of icetime..
At a reduced rate, I'd love to see him back..
I am one of if not the biggest Lindros guy on the board as most of you know so don't misunderstand my intentions here.I hope he does come back at a more affordable rate but to me I strongly believe that while he has not said as much that he is sick of Slats and all his BS as well as still being a whipping boy for all those ignorant NYR "fans" that now make up the crowd at MSG.I wasn't there last night but the guy I sold my tix told me that the boo birds were still out for Lindros when he got announced as the games 3rd star!!!How F'in pathetic is that after his game last night and since he's come back???Just a F'in joke.
And while I do think he enjoys being able to get lost amoung all the stuff going on in NYC but I still think he wants to return to the limelight in hockey and he knows full well he'd be a bigtime personality again if he were donning his hometown Leaf jersey not to mention it could be his crowning achievement to help lead the Leafs to the 1st cup since '57 which would be similar to Mess slaying the dragon here. That would be the biggest redemption he could possible get in his career that has failed to live up to what it's suppossed to be.
And putting him on a 2nd line with a true PF that is absolutely VITAL to Lindros success as I've said all along since he got here will bring him to a higher level of success then the yrs he's had here as Slats has refused to ackowledge this along with about 1000 other things but put him on a 2nd line with Tucker on one wing and Nolan on the other and have Roberts-Sundin-Mogilny as the 1st line and they'd likely be the team to beat out of the east at least for next year.
Believe me, I want Lindros back next year and even beyond but this is just the way I see it unfolding.
