Compare the Getzlaf / Perry deal to Suter / Parise. It was about artificially bringing down the AAV through 14 year deals, not ending big-money deals.
That's part of it, but there was a whole lot of crocodile tears from the owners about losing money. And doling out these big contracts while I get your point is hypocrisy. Do you believe that bringing the lockout to an end hinged on length of contracts, or was revenue sharing a bit more of a contentious issue?
