Maybe, but I don't see an immediate need for that to occur this off season. A Selanne retirement is probably at hand. That alone pays for most of the two salaries from a cap perspective. 4.5 million of about 6 million in cap increase. However, Fowler's contract extension kicks in as well.

If they are willing to spend to the cap, they should be able to fill in their roster and keep Ryan if they desire. This isn't much different than Crosby/Malkin/Neal. The Pens and Ducks cap situation is almost identical next season.
