My scenario really only comes into play if the Blues feel like they can't get Shattenkirk signed to a deal they are comfortable with. If that happens, the Flyers would likely be interested, and could at least offer an immediate, cost-controlled top-4 replacement (albeit a LH) +, which I would think would be a reasonably competitive offer.
Coburn is paid 5.5 million next season and our budget is year-to-year as we are continually putting ourselves in better financial positions by raising prices and making more playoff revenue. The absolute most Shatty would get is OEL's deal, and Coburn would end up not saving us anything.

In the end, Shatty will ask for OEL and get 4.5ish, Pietrangelo will ask for Doughty, we will say OEL, and they will meet around 6.5.
