Yes, orcas are a local species. There are several pods cruising around off the coast. Whale watching charters are a popular tourist activity in the summer months, when the rain here is warmer. Also, when the Griffiths family sold the Canucks in the 90's, the guys who bought it ran both it and the Grizzlies under the Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment parent company. They also owned the stadium too, IIRC. See below.
